Helping girls explore the possibilities. That is what we do as the Merze Tate Explorers. Our organization was founded in 2008 with 12 girls who were excited about learning about their world as travel writers. The girls in grades 4th-12th from the inner-city of Kalamazoo, Michigan, had an opportunity to do things that their previous economic status may have prevented. The experience these young women have had through exposure to college, careers, and the world, have led to Fulbright Scholars, political leaders, public policy makers, and world travelers.
Each year the girls create an annual Girls Can! Magazine and their own public access show, "Explorers Ask the Experts," to highlight amazing women as they use media to share what they learn with their world.
Every girl will excel in their God-given passion to change the world!
The Explorers could use partnerships that provide hands-on mentoring and cultural immersion opportunities.
My background is journalism. My passion is to share stories with the world that inspire them to learn and explore. Let us share your story.
