Think Like a Girl

I have two brothers myself and when one of them said to the other "you kick like a girl" one of them was thinking that the other was kicking very smooth, with no force, and very slowly; and when I hear such comments, the first thing that came to my mind was that I (who was a girl) kicked very soft, I was weak and powerless. Many things have lived since that time until today (my 32 year old) and I realize that I have been a very brave woman, very strong, and thinking like a girl helped me to accomplished many things in my life.
When I was 16, in Mexico was unusual to have Internet in homes and with much effort my dad bought us a computer, put Internet and I started looking out the world from this new perpendicular to the world of Internet era. Even in those days, the connection was through a system that sounded something like this "... ting .. ting piiii ... brrrrrr ... shhhh ... ting" and connected, remember?! It was the time that started Hotmail, ICQ and very funny communication tools. I really liked to understand what was going on the Internet and explain to my family and friends how to use it and use your emails. The Internet was opening our eyes to a new world.
Decide thinking like a girl form me was a challenge in a boys world, it was like putting lenses provided a different perspective because I grew up with men and although my mom was always present, never got involved in new issues such as Internet. Since an early age I had a huge need to improve my community, my society and improve the situation of those around me.

I have always believed that entrepreneurship is the only way to create wealth and make a country develops. Therefore and gathered all: entrepreneurship, think like a girl, social development and technology. I decided with a friend to form a project for my city where citizens can report with cell phones what can be improved in the city in order to inform the government needs in streets, security and better life for citizens; the goal was to build a bridge between government and citizens. And because of the Internet, we did it!
URBANIZAS is a project that thanks to the Internet we could develop and bring to citizens to report and to government to decide and improve.
The Internet has helped me achieve my goal of creating my own business, to support the social development, always thinking like a girl and using the Internet as the communication tool.
And you How has the Internet empowered you to achieve your goals?
