The Sacred Place Where Life Begins | Gwich'in Women Speak trailer

In 2010, I began exploring the role of Native American women activists in conserving our public lands, to unveil their contribution to protect our parks’ natural and cultural resources. I did the work simply because when it comes to the topic of public lands conservation, the native's voices, especially women's voices usually don't reach the media even though they have always been the stewards of the land. I want people to know that they are still here today, working hard to protect and restore our public land from development.

I have been working on a documentary that shares voices of Arctic Native Gwich'in women who speak out to protect their sacred land, commonly known as the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, from the potential oil and gas development.
