Editing midwives

Hi all,

I have been getting quite a few stories from some of the women in my cohorts, the only problem (besides slow response, connection time) I have encountered is grammar, syntax errors. How have you all been handling the grammar, have you been encouraging the women to take a more detailed look at what they have written, have you fixed it for them or have you been telling them how to fix it? I haven't gotten that far as of yet, but I was thinking of pointing it out at the end when they have elaborated enough or have been clear and precise about the story or situation they are relating. Anyone else finding a better way to handle that aspect of the editing? Besides that a couple of the pieces I have encountered have been personal recounting but rather vague diatribe. I have been urging my cohort to relate personal events that talks of the women in their communities and to elaborate on the stories that are relevant. Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.
