Say ourselves to Love ourselves

A prolonged and profound expedition...............
Of a young, energetic and educated girl,
Eldest of sibling, over-burdened with family responsibilities,
Crossed the hurdle of child marriage,
Covered the barrier of higher education,
Stumbling block of being girl.......
Thanks to her parents, who stick around her!!!
All the day and night..... Sweating blood.... Sweating blood....

The girl got a profession.....
After completing higher education,
With lots of hope and expectation,
From family, friends, relatives and society,
Being the first post-graduate of the village,
The first girl in profession.

The girl got a profession.....
To work with rural poor especially women,
Illiterate but brilliant women,
Innocent and generous women,
Having superior intellect and inspiration,
End -less energy and enthusiasm,
Organised into small groups,
To change their lives and livelihoods...

The girl become a woman,
Beyond caste and creed,
Outside state and religion,
Buried all aspirations,
Become a mother.....Mother of two naughty kids,
Betrothed in sharing and caring,
Lost the hope of professional career,
Personal likes and dislikes rest and quest.....
To prepare two little kids into sensitive men.........

The hopes revived,
The woman back to profession,
Join hands ........hands of other women,
Thinking to fly high.......fly high to touch the sky,
Despite continuous reminders- you cannot touch the sky!!!
Because you are all women, weak, unsecured etc........,
But I tell you; yes we can touch it.......because.......
We are God’s children – just like men,

Everything is with us, as they have,
Wits, intellect, emotion and what not;
We are in a group; to share and care,
We have a link, a big knot,
A world link, a web-link –“web 2.0”
A strong will-power, to fight for our rights,
To dig up the ill-habits,
To uproot the norms; the society has made for us,
To be the change agents; for ourselves, for the generations to come.....
Be with “world pulse” in the years to come.
Say ourselves to Love ourselves.
