One Young World: Now recruiting Youth Leaders!

Hi Correspondents!

The One Young World conference is now recruiting youth leaders for this year's summit, scheduled for October 18-22 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. If you were born during or after 1986 I would highly encourage you to apply to attend!

Since the inaugural summit in 2010, World Pulse correspondents have been present:

2010: Sunita Basnet, Gifty Pearl Alimo
2011: Sarvina Kang, Thais Moraes, Nilima Raut, Gifty Pearl Alimo and Sunita Basnet
2012: You?!

For the first time, this year the organizers have added 100 full scholarships for youth from specific under-represented countries (among you all, Eritrea, Nicaragua, Barbados, and Somalia). The deadline to apply for one of these scholarships is March 31st, and you can find info and the application here: http://www.oneyoungworld.com/giveaway/

Even if your country is not listed there, I would still encourage you to sign up as a Candidate. Often times if you're registered, and are able to raise some of the money, there are partial scholarships available. Everyone who is interested in this opportunity should register here: http://www.oneyoungworld.com/register/candidates.asp

Raising Money
Once you're officially registered as a Candidate, One Young World will contact you with some resources to help you with fundraising, including form letters and links to photographs. I would also suggest that you make a post on the "Need" section of our Resource Exchange, providing lots of details about the conference and the best way to send you funds. I can help you more with that when the time comes. It would be a good idea to start by signing up, and then connecting with the Correspondents listed above who have attended in the past for their advice.

Please let us know if you do sign up so we can keep track and cheer you on!
