Happy Festivities- Greetings from India!

Here's wishing my dearest World Pulse friends, a very happy and prosperous festive season!

Durga Puja (Worship of Goddess Durga is considered the main festival of my Bengali community), is almost here and the fun begins this Sunday.

Saptami, Ashtami, Navami and Dashami, are the 4 main days of celebration where people, young and old, dressed to the nines, visit various pandals ( temporary fabricated structure, mainly used to keep the idol of Goddess Durga ) and enjoy sumptuous food, normally known as 'Bhog'.

The festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil. It recalls the power of Female 'Shakti' ( feminine and creative power, strength) symbolized by Goddess Durga who slays 'Asura' ( the evil Buffalo demon ) to re-establish peace and sanctity on earth. It is a day to rejoice and reconnect with friends and relatives.Dance, music and much fanfare add to the attractions of the festivity.

May this Durga Puja, bring lots of love, harmony and tolerance in our hearts and give us the strength to fulfill our dream of a just and peaceful society.

Lots and lots of love to all.

P.S.- lots of shopping still left, so i might be little out of action on WP for few days. But i will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
