Happy International Women's Day 2015

Hello Everyone here, to all the great and courageous women from all over the world who are standing up against gender violence and fighting for the rights of women in diverse ways, i say Happy International Women’s Day!!! As we celebrate the #IWD2015 I want to use this medium to request that you join me to raise our voices together to urge our Senators and Representatives from across the world to support the International Violence Against Women Act. This message is to our Members of Parliament, As a constituent and someone who cares about stopping violence against women and girls, I strongly urge you to do everything you can to ensure passage of the International Violence Against Women Act.
Globally, more than one-third of all women will experience physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives. From domestic violence, to bride burnings, to dowry deaths, to rape as a weapon of war, the potential of too many women and girls is being threatened by gender-based violence.
The International Violence Against Women Act would take important steps to solidify the commitment of our nation to the freedom, safety, and equality of women and girls around the world.
I hope you will support the International Violence Against Women Act and all efforts to promote freedom, equality, and opportunity for women and girls around the world.
Thank you for considering my comments. I look forward to your reply.

As for my country Nigeria, our Nigerians Senators and Representatives can and should act to make the world a safer place for women and girls. Please Help Us to make the world a better and safe place for women and girls.
