When Women Speak: Poetry

Story
So I imagine
I dream
I create new worlds in my head
Of late I have been dreaming more than normal
I dream of women who inspire, women who lead
I dream of women who bring justice, who search for the truth
So I imagine
I dream
Of late I have been seeing more visions than normal
I envision a world of possibilities, of new and exciting things
I envision women who are not afraid, who are courageous
I see women who bring peace
So I imagine
I dream
Of late I have been laughing more than normal
I have this song in my head and heart, which comes from knowing
I know now that when women speak, the world is not content
I know now that to silence a woman, is to silence a generation
So I know now
That women must speak, they must connect
For this generation and the ones to come
Women must speak for the sake of new and unborn babies
Women must speak, for the innocent and vulnerable will have no voice
I know now that when women speak, things change
Mountains crumble, I know now that when women speak
They light a fire, which burns bright and lights up lives, and smiles and hearts
I know now that when women speak, they light a fire
