Some excerpts from the sermon:

"We said that when we listen to The QURAN, we are not listening to The QURAN, we are listening to ALLAH Subhanna hu wa ta alla and we made mention of the fact that not many people when they hear the words of The QURAN say, I hear ALLAH."

"And we also mentioned that language sometimes is an issue for some people obviously. They say, Well we don't understand. But the Barakat of The QURAN, the Baraka of The QURAN keeps on giving even if you can't understand the exact meanings; there is something in The QURAN that goes beyond your human mind and touches your heart."

"The PROPHET of ALLAH (May ALLAH's peace and blessings be upon him) was the living QURAN. His character. His Ibadah. His Shariah. His Haqiqah. ALLAH Subhana wa ta alla spoke and the PROPHET did! The PROPHET's wife, Ummul Mumineena Aisha said (Arabic spoken), his manners, his morals, his character was The QURAN."

"...but there was one element they had that we don't have and that is a QURANIC character. When was the last time you met a person and that person's character reminded you of The QURAN? His behavior...His or Her...Let's not get caught up in that stuff; his behavior, his interaction, his personality, his words, or his lack of words reminded you of Ayat in The QURAN? Where is this happening?"

"So we have a deficiency, a very serious deficiency and that is we have failed to make The QURAN our behavior!"

Dear Najwa,
It is clear that the Quran is deeply important to you, and I agree that "there is something....that goes beyond your human mind and touches your heart when we delve into spiritual practice". I am glad for any of us who find our ways to the peace and deep reflection that spirituality in its many forms make possible for us as we live our lives. The coming together of the World Council of Religious and Spiritual Leaders has been hopeful to me, as has been the coming together of us here within WorldPulse, with all we have to offer and with celebration of all we each have found as ways to live our lives fully and in depth.
In sisterhood,

Dear Tamarack,
Yes, The Quran is deeply important to me. My religion of Islam means everything to me and so therefore, the words of ALLAH in The Quran guide me as a Muslim, as they should for all Muslims or anyone who believes in ALLAH, the one GOD and believes that Muhammad is the Messenger of GOD. The Quran serves a reference or guide for anyone who wants to know the truth because ALLAH's words are the truth.

You said you agree that "there is something....that goes beyond your human mind and touches your heart when we delve into spiritual practice". This is not what Imam Asi said as you put in quotes so if you are agreeing with what he said, you should not change what he said as you did. Imam Asi said, "...there is something in The QURAN that goes beyond your human mind and touches your heart." With all due respect, please be fair to the author of the words of this Khutbah or sermon.
Sincerely,
Najwa

Dear Najwa,
I am sorry, I meant to put the quotations after "...heart", and did not mean to include the words after within the quotation, which do come from my thoughts on what you have written. It was sloppy of me, though unintentional.

Dear Najwa,
Thank you for educating on Kuran. I have very less or not at all the information on Kuran. But t what I know is in every religion or custom has its own value in human welfare. Hopefully, the analysis of Kuran can be helpful for women's empowerment. Definitely, there might be a good part that addresses women's issue.
Sorry for my little knowledge but I would love to read more on this.
best regards, anjana

Dear Anjana,
It's my pleasure. A most beautiful thing about The Quran in my opinion is that it is a book that consists of God's or Allah's words and The Quran is a most revised edition of God's words because It is the final book of guidance from God or the final book of God's words. This is very significant in my opinion. We know that any textbook or any book for that matter that is the latest edition is the most up to date, is the most revised, is the most accurate so the fact that this is the case with The Holy Quran says much.

Perhaps the items below will provide you with more information on The Quran and what Allah/God (Glory be unto Him) offers to us or to all humanity concerning women and the rights and status of women.
