On Thursday, I spoke with a lady who works for the U.S. Agency for International Development in the Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment. She is a technical advisor in the area of training and capacity development who in her role has traveled to 102 countries. During our very hearty conversation, she informed me that her organization has money to aid Yemen specifically but they have been told that because of security, they cannot help. She said who knows if security is the real reason or not.

Hi Najwa,

How are you doing? Thanks for sharing your powerful and poignant poem. It's very sad what's going on there....

It is my pleasure to share my poem with you and other readers. I appreciate you reading it.

I totally agree...very sad; and a disgrace what's happening in Yemen.

Great! Yes, thanks:)

You're welcome.

Signed it! I don't see the point in this war and pretty much any war, for that matter...

Thank you so much for signing the petition! I'm sure I echo what the people of Yemen who are suffering in oppressive, onerous, grievous ways reflective of the "...world's worst humanitarian crisis" said by the United Nations and by International Rescue Committee (IRC), "...the largest humanitarian crisis in the world." are saying to you.

Yes, so true.

GOD is proud of what you did.

It's always refreshing and a relief to know there are people who put themselves in the shoes of their human brothers and human sisters; people who aren't fixated on themselves and their own bubble or microcosm that they ignore, dismiss, don't feel, don't care for, etc. the truth even if it is staring them in the face; even if it is smothering them; even if blood they too are made of is being found all over the place; even if the truth is closest to their jugular vein. In times and in situations that we are all facing today, every act of goodwill that one does makes all the difference. Thanks so much again!
