True Sisterhood & Support; Here is a New Generation of Impact Leaders

As my new business enterprise geared towards girls' education has led me into a new favorite pass time of beading, my search took me to this beautiful bead necklace demo video. I clicked \"watch\" on the video and I couldn't wait to have a finished product. Bead after bead, I started putting my necklace together and it was coming out so nicely. At half the production, I imitated what my sister from Nigeria (Olutosin Oladosu Adebowale) used to do with her creations; she would paste the work in progress on facebook, and then paste the finished product when she is done. I did same too. I got a lot of cheering and support from fellow friends around the world who thought I was doing extremely well. I had my very own sister, Olutosin, shared my work in progress on her facebook wall. I was so energized by all the support I got.

Making the necklace was tedious, time consuming, but it was worth every back pain I felt. Finally, after about 16 hours of hard work, I completed the state of the art necklace, and put it up on facebook for people to see how the finished work looked like. The support and congratulations was so amazing. Then came the surprised support from my World Pulse sister in Nigeria, Olutosin. She said she doesn't wear jewellery for religious reasons but she was going to buy the necklace. She asked me how she could transfer me money and I told her about all the money agencies through which I have received money internationally before. I was worried about the transfer charges, so I told her that it was going to be so expensive for her to transfer money through those agencies because they charge high transfer fees. I was also worried about how I was going to transfer the necklace to her across to Nigeria, which was going to cost her another money. But to my surprise, this is what my darling sister said:

\"No, just concentrate on receiving the money, I will like the beads to be donated to a widow, who has a daughter. How do I send the money to you cheaply? If not I don't mind western union. The necklace must be given to a widow who gave birth to a daughter, a widow below 40 years, but has not remarried. Any religion, I don't care about religion. Thanks\"

You see that? That to me is one of the biggest supports I have ever gotten from a sister. A sister who purchases a necklace and asks for it to be donated to a widow outside her community and outside her country. A widow she would probably never meet. It is not about the money of the bead that cost $20, it is about the good intention of the buyer. It is about that support I got from a friend, a sister, a World Pulse breed who keeps inspiring me everyday with her hard work. The action of my sister has carried me to another level or kind of support as I go about my social change journey.

It should be noted, that the Rescue Women - Cameroon beading making business is a fallout of the Impact Leader program to enable us be sustainable in the years to come -- A move that will put more girls in school and create more Girls' Lead Clubs in the years ahead.

Thank you my darling sister, Olutosin Oladosu Adebowale. You are a true sister!
