Recently, the Congressman from Illinois called out the Secretary of Homeland Security over the practice of children being separated from their parents at the border. Note that last fall, a child from Guatemala died after falling ill after being separated from her father. It's my understanding that the cause is not yet known.
Is it possible that a child's immune system is compromised after being taken away from her parents?
Rep. Gutierreze angrily confronted the Secretary of Homeland Security in this CNN video.

Hi Dana,
Thanks for sharing your post and corresponding article. I would think a child's immune system would be compromised when they are taken away from their parents, just based on the increased stress level alone.
Excellent point!
Thanks!
A terrible situation that still persists
so sad the things happening today. i think it is possible for a child to be affected to that extent when separated from their parents. Our connection with our progenitors are pretty deep. Thats why sometimes you get to feel the pain of a closed one at a distance.
