Sharing Love Makes us Wealthy.

Being an Impact leader for World Pulse was just one of my achieved goals. Realizing my project was another one that I did, but I was not satisfied. I had been carrying a burden in me for 1 year as I asked myself; How can I get more women in my community to benefit from the World Pulse site?

I remember the day that as I was walking through the streets of our Food Market to do some shopping for my family, when a women stopped me and asked; “Are you the lady that is profiled on World Pulse platform?”  When she tried calling my names and describing my project. I was sure I was the one. She was full of excitement and joy as she hugged me tightly. This lady had been searching for me in Bamenda to be her mentor. She said “My dear sister, I want to become like you.\" This was just one of the numerous times I have been stopped in our streets.

This situation left my mind thinking and pondering. I did not just want to inspire one or two women, but I wanted to change the lives of at list 20 women in the following month. So, I decided to contact all the women that had expressed same feeling to train them how to become active World Pulse members.

I made preparations including an action plan as we were taught during our Advanced Digital Changemaking program, which is one of the most valuable packages offered by World Pulse.

I recently organized 4 sessions of World Pulse training at CYEED digital empowerment center for girls. We met once a week not only to join World Pulse but to read stories, write our stories create resources and become encouragers and contributors.

Throughout my life, I have had a burning desire to see women emerge and develop to their full potential. So, I freely and joyfully shared my love with them as we explore the World Pulse site together.

After 2 trainings the ladies were very excited to discover this space that gives them voice, strength and they all earn two badges each. The experienced growth on the site and as well increased their reading and writing skills. These women are ready to take their different visions to higher heights. Yes! They got skills and talents.

During the training workshops we had 2 special guest speakers who happily came to inspire the women with their success stories. They are our kind and lovely sister, World Pulse members and Story Award winners. I really appreciate Evelyn Fonkem and Miranda Tumanjong for joining us and sharing their experience that boosted and motivated our sisters to enjoy the benefits of the World Pulse site. They explained how they had used the links to their story awards to get other opportunities.

At the end, all the ladies understood the power of sharing their stories especially those that had never been said before. They found it amazing to use technology as a tool for social change. I was thrilled to see that some of them bought laptops and smart phones after the training.

I remember after the first training one of the women stopped coming. When I reached out to her share told me she could not read and write very well. I advised her to take computer classes at out center for free. Today she is one of the most active members.

On the last day we had a small party during which we shared food and drinks.

I derived some kind of special inner peace when I successfully transferred knowledge to them that changed their lives visibly.

I want to do more!

Love is wealth!
