11. 1. 11 Resolution

Dear Her Excellency bMichelle Bachelet and Members

First of all I would like to wish you all Very happy New Year 2011 and I would like to make a resolution on this special day ,eleven one eleven , to participate in women development campaigns. I feel so delighted and cheerful to have your agency holding a place among world leaders on behalf of the world women. Every time I find woman's success I feel proud. I am from Myanmar and we proudly have a world noble woman Aung San Su Kyi whom people have been awaiting for twenty years her presidency I strongly believe you are playing the crucial role to increase the higher roles of the women and to educe the violence against the women. It is not deniable men and women are equally intelligent and powerful although many women are left out in leading roles and participatory roles in many places.Causes are visible and solutions are possible. Some challenges can be overcome by LNGOs and INGOs and for some bigger and wider actions , the UN agency like yours will lead to the accomplishments of the campaigns.

In our country many girls especially from rural areas couldn't finish higher education because of access and financial problem . The schools are far away from their homes and lack of transportation at some places and unaffordable daily transportation charges burden them to become high school graduates or university graduates. I have found many students walking to schools without inadequate food and got wet on the way. As a consequence , they felt sick of hunger and sick of pneumonia . This causes many girls to finish their education earlier. More people used to believe girls don't need to be educated because they will be dependent of their husband. But this belief became weaker because of many successful women and more parents are giving effort to make their daughters to become graduates. Providing free transportation and arranging girls centers near the schools will increase the rate of educated women.

Another big issue facing globally is violence against women. It has been decades for the women of all ages being abused physically and emotionally. It has been happening almost everywhere in the world and more actions needed to taken . I would like to request you to organize counseling groups to educate girls and women how to protect them selves and it would be helpful to reduce the victims . Teaching self defense techniques like karate should be included. Another idea could be forming rescue teams composed of women lawyers and women activists to help the victims. I am also wondering if women are involved in the UN peace keeping forces and if they are not there I would like to recommend their involvement . They would be good listeners and advisers to rape victims I think. I can assure that I will be participating in promoting women's development and reducing risks . I am also awaiting your success by your leading role.
