Rural and Township Technical Development Programme
Apr 28, 2022
First story
I started this programme under my foundation, Fanelle Foundation, with the aim to inspire and empower the next generation of at least 80% women in sound engineering, lighting design and stage management. Our mission is to create a supportive community for women in audio and events production, providing the tools, knowledge, and support to further their careers in the entertainment industry.
- This project is based on the observation of what is the current situation in the industry regarding qualified personnel.
- We often see in various productions the same people as part of the crew and when it comes to technicians, very few or none at all females are seen performing this roles.
- Needless to say that very few come from rural areas. www.townshiptechnical.co.za.
What problem are we solving?
Gender base violence
Inequality problem
Poverty
So far the programme has been running successfully, besides that funds has run out, and we can tell that the demand is too high, community really loved what this programme is doing for the youth. I am hoping that by becoming the member of this community I will be able reach my dream of spreading this programme around my country and hopefully collaborate with other countries, in that way, we will establish the relationship of exchanging programmes where our participant would go to those countries and vice-versa for experience exchange and exposure to the different markets of the same industries. I am convinced that this would bring more drive to our local community ,youth, women and have them dreaming and achieving higher platforms.
