Empowering women by providing access to finance through mobile phones

We have been empowering women with Free vocational/livelihood skills, digital literacy, book keeping skills, but finally we have started helping poor women to overcome their phobia for Technology by registering, teaching and providing access to finance through their mobile phones.

The women are so happy, they can now access finance for business using their mobile phones and can also conduct other financial transactions like payment of bills, transfer to banks, recharge card top-up etc.

We have given them a skill to help generate income to feed and educate their children, we made the banked (Financial Inclusion) and provided access to finance.

In my previous journals I said women need to be economically empowered to enable them go online.

Hi Novine, What amazing work you are doing! You are a true inspiration. I love your words-- "We can choose to help poor women by investing in them." It is a choice that we can all make.

Keep it up! You're making a big impact.

Thanks Scott it is really a choice we can all make, I have discovered it doesn't take millions to impact people's life,it only takes a heart that loves and want to serve humanity.

Hello Novine! Your work in Mamamoni is creating change, one click at a time. I would like to have you in our Economic Empowerement group because we can learn so much from your work. Please join us in connecting and supporting others who share the same vision of attaining economic empowerement. Come and visit us in  https://www.worldpulse.com/en/community/groups/economic-empowerment-group. Would Mamamoni be willing to share how you do it? For example, making a toolkit that can guide  organizations helping women to link them to financial services using the mobile phones would be most helpful. I am for one interested how you do it,

Maria Chona

Hi Maria, sorry for replying late, I am already a member of the economic empowerment group.

At Mamamoni we empower women with liveliood skills, make them banked and provide access to finance through mobile phones.

We do this by registering them for mobile money and giving them loans through their mobile accounts.
