Hello!

I am an independent journalist based in Indian administered Kashmir. A Postgraduate in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Kashmir, I have always had a love for reading and writing.

Environment is one of the issues that I deeply care about as I believe that we have to respect the laws of nature and not vandalize them. We have to be responsible for our actions and the way they are impacting the environment which in turn are changing our lives. I believe we are not entitled to endless and mindless use of the limited resources that earth has. It is very important to recognize and accept that earth's resources are limited and to be used judiciously. We can't take our part and forget about the generations to come.

Climate change is a reality. Everyone is feeling its heat in one form or another, directly or indirectly, yet we are refusing to change. There are more and more choices made on individual and national/international level which is taking us to the point of no return. We are facing all sorts of problems, temperature changes, rising sea level, drying rivers, droughts, floods, dropping water tables, loss in glacial water storehouses, soil erosion, pollution, loss of forest cover. These all are changing our biosphere resulting in changed lives of all living beings.

I hope there is hope yet.

“Be the change you want to see in the world” M K Gandhi

I believe we all have to play our part. We all have to contribute in our ways to bring in change.

Dear Nusrat,

Thank you for this beautiful introduction! Your words are so powerful: " I believe we are not entitled to endless and mindless use of the limited resources that earth has. It is very important to recognize and accept that earth's resources are limited and to be used judiciously. We can't take our part and forget about the generations to come." I appreciate your eloquent and compelling description.
