Women are not weak but we tolerate

Domestic violence  is a very serious issue most especially in this period of covid19 pandemic reason  being that since many people  most especially women are afraid  to go out not to get infected with the virus  and they ain't  able to support  their spouse, they are being seen as lazy women  that sit and eat and can't produce thus they are targets of insults of both their husbands and family members, some women even  get beaten  up and some end up loosing their lives.A case in my community  a woman  was killed over a quarrel with her husband over a bottle of drink because  her husband  got his and didn't get hers the process of she confronting her husband she was stabbed to death when all this happen men will think we are weak.We are not weak but tolerate because we are mothers, home and nation builders.Women have to be given opportunities to know their worth so they can stand the challenges faced by us in any society that we find ourselves

Welcome to world Pulse Oben Tati. What a powerful first post. I agree with you that women finding their sense of self worth is the first step in feeling the strength to stop tolerating abuse of any kind. I can’t wait to read more of your stories. You have a strong voice!

Hello Oben,
Welcome to World Pulse, and thank you for sharing this encouragement. It reminds me of the saying "don't mistake my kindness for weakness". There is so much that women have suffered because of misunderstandings. I hope women can be safe so that we can continue spreading love and kindness to our communities.

Stay safe dear. It's good to have you on board.

Hi Oben, Welcome to World Pulse, and I agree with Dawn, what a powerful first post! Your title captivated me, you speak such truth, many women are constantly making choices to tolerate for the sake of the needs of others in their life - never mistake this for weakness, but sheer resilience in the face of unbelievable barriers! Yes Oben, you speak your truth and you shine it and share it with us, thank you. I cannot wait to hear more of what you will share with us.

Cheers from Montreal, Canada,
Adriana

Dear Oben,
I loved reading your strong voice, calling it out. Men are continuing to be violent toward women, including murdering women, and we are called weak, because we "tolerate" it. We "tolerate it" as you so clearly wrote, because we are kept in an emergency level of busyness caring for all affected by these violences, and because, as you have reported here, we get killed for trying to speak up.
Too many men continue to teach each other that it is their right as men to dominate a woman/women. And then we get blamed for not managing to stop the violence.
What is so hopeful here is to read your strong woman voice calling it all out. A big welcome to World Pulse, dear sister. You have found a home base where we are all working to end this violence and to celebrate that we are here together. I love your photo!
