My name is Bukola Taiwo from Nigeria, i work as an account officer in a bottled water Production and Distribution company.I am a person of diverse interest, i love to create new opportunity for myself and others, love challenging environment,i love new and exiting opportunity, love to acquire new knowledge, i love the internet and everything about computers.

I learnt to use the computer by myself, learnt browsing the internet all by myself and with time i learnt from others.I came about world pulse just browsing the net and searching for opportunity to improve myself and others.

I have use the the knowledge acquire to help other by sharing what i know and learnt online.

Being a part of the digital empowermrnt traing has help me in my writing skill, because i can be lazy at times with typing, but seen others writing about themselves and how they are changing the world with their voices challenged and inspire me to want to do they same and learn more,it is a platform to learning to improve oneself.

I joined the world pulse group to increase my knowledge on how to use the internet to hear my voice to the world on issues affecting women, youth and children.

i joined the Economic empowerment group to learn more on empowering one self and others. In my country, poverty is prevalent, poeple live in abject poverty in a country which produces crude oil, empowering people will help curb the poverty level or reduce it.

Giving poeple opportunity to earn a living or open them up to opportunity that abound in their environment goes a long way to improve the standard of living of the people.Encouraging women and youth to acquire skills goes a long way to curb poverty.

One of my vision on empowerment program in pathfider initiative is giving loans to women to do small scale business which will empower them financial to be able to provide for their children education which will inturn affect the society at large.

Hello Bukola,

You have found the right place to be, World Pulse.  With your education and self training on computers and the internet, you surely will be able to help others in Nigeria.  Giving loans to women so that they can begin their own small businesses is brilliant.  I am sure you will be able to do a lot of good. I am very impressed with your vision and wish you much success in helping other women who are in need.  We all have to do our part, don't we?  You certainly are off to a great start!  I can't wait to hear from you in the future so you can share your successes.

Warmly in sisterhood,

Barbara

Dear Bukola,

It's wonderful to hear how you learned to use the internet yourself and that you are now using your knowledge to encourage others.  There is so much to learn and share in the World Pulse community.  I am excited to hear more about your experiences and challenges.

All my best,

Dear Bukola,

The excitement and energy you have about the world, about learning, about technology comes right off the page as I read your story. Congratulations on learning so much on your own about internet and computers!

I too think it's really valuable to provide women with loans to start businesses. There's so much to do to make a community thrive and women can do lots, with just a little bit of capital.  Your encouragement and help will make a big difference in your community in Nigeria...Wishing you every success as you move ahead!

Warmly,

Deborah

Olubee,

Thank you for your comments. It is right that poverty is a reality in many areas of the world especially in Africa. It is also proven that poverty will have a chance to disappear if women are given the means to improve their lives and the life of their families and communities.

Keep doing what you're doing: sharing your knowledge, don't get discouraged and you will find a way to drag more women into your adventure. That is the only way we will be able to make a difference.

Keep the Worldpulse family informed of your futur activities.

Hello Bukola,

You are heading in the right direction empowering yourself digitally through research and exploration on the web. Joining World Pulse is a great way to get into the practice of writing and reflecting on how you plan to impact your community. It will help you to refine your plans. I'd love to hear more about your plans for starting up a microfinance group to give small loans.

Hello Oulbee,

What an independent and curious mind you have! I have great admiration for your spirit and perseverance! To be self-taught on the computer and then seek to learn and connect with other from around the world is absolutely fantastic. You are a dreamcatcher and a dream maker all wrapped into one. Without doubt your goals of a micro economy for women in need will find its feet. It will be great to watch how you accomplish this and learn more about the kinds of loans you plan on giving. Are there specific businesses you feel these women would be successful in?

Warmly, Roshanna
