Dear friends, here is your Olutosin joining the group this beautiful rainy day in Lagos Nigeria. I am first of all your your friend, your colleague, hey hey hey I am a part of the World Pulse mountain, a mountain that is made of sisters and lastly, I am that sisters of yours who happens to be delivered by another mother. We are one, Ubuntu.
I am a passionate writer, a midnight poet, and a committed change-maker. I love working with women and children, its the fuel that keeps my engine oiled and alive. I work with the riverside women and children in the riverine communities in Lagos state, Nigeria. These are areas where people are cut off from the mainland by a beautiful river that breathes night and day.
Oh yeah, I love making treasure from trash just to teach women that adding value to trash can turn it to a treasure, in the same way that an added value to a woman's life can turn her into a community asset, a role model and a voice for other silent women.
Lest I forget, I am a social innovator, I love creating new things out of useless things because I believe that nothing is useless and everybody can create reasure by just wearing a new Lens that appreciates everyone and everything.
Though I look forward to more empowerment programmes, but I believe that I am an empowered woman, a domestic violence survivor, who is free from all the shackles of societal oppression because I chose to face my fear and began to walk elegantly out of every situation that humiliates, dehumanises and oppresses women. Here I am, at your service in the Gender Based Violence Group.
Light and Love.
