WISE WOMEN WENT WILD ON WEDNESDAY

The more things change the more they stay the same, history repeated itself on Wednesday 29th of April, 2009 when women came out naked to protest against improper electoral conduct in Ekiti state, Western Nigeria because five days after a re run election, when people are being beaten and massacred, President Yar adua of Nigeria has remained silent; not a sentence from this faithful leader. He is at least faithful to those who imposed him on Nigeria.

The first time I witnessed naked women’s protest was in 1983, in Ondo state when in the same vein, women protested against the imposition of a lost candidate, when we say Anatomy of Women power, it is the surname of such protest because the state has to go through a spiritual cleansing process when women protest naked.

To refresh our minds, some weeks back I wrote about Leader, Hunger, Africa, when I wrote of witnessing an evicted Governor throwing bundles of money and people were scrambling to catch. The re run election into that position has exposed Nigeria leaders.

The best thing about the issue is that on Wednesday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of the election in the state resigned her appointment, she is Ms. Ayoka Adebayo, in the letter of resignation, she claimed that her conscience and Christian upbringing is against the corrupt practices happening in the State, immediately, she was declared wanted by the police for arrest a woman who is about 75 years. The resignation letter was rejected and she was forced to return in order to conclude her assignment.

The electoral commissioner is a woman with a lion’s heart. She came out boldly to say I resign from what is happening, the Chairman of the electoral process is an old professor disrespected by Nigerian because he has soiled his hands. Women are better in politics and in power but men are corrupt in Nigeria politics, they cannot stand good women. The Christian Association of Nigeria promised to protect the Resident Electoral woman but we have heard such cases before and those people gunned down thereafter while Christian leaders later pray for the repose of the dead although miracle happens, how do we defend civilians from armed rulers? Nigerians are barbaric and brutal when it comes to politics.

The present administration is not different from the past; he is just a caricature, dancing to the tunes of hiding powers that rules. The election that brought this present administration to power is full of irregularities that more than five State Governors from the ruling party are taking to court while two activists have replaced Governors of the ruling states when they contested in court. This shows that the ruling party has really lost credibility. The third state contested in the Western zone is where there is no peace now.

Shamelessness made men face and fill other world leaders with lies while back in Nigeria, we know who they really are, a past leader whose electoral conduct brought out negative comments from world observers and entrenchment of lost party in power is now in South Africa observing election! Election in Nigeria is fraudulent, someone who throws bundle of stolen money at people will surely make it a do or die election, after the scenario, the President went to that same state the following week to campaign for the rejected candidate.

This rejected Governor has spent almost two years in power before the court ordered re run election, if he had done well; will the president and his vice visit the state to canvass for him? In those two years he ruled, the state was unchanged, except for the recurrent re painting around, roads were under construction for years, while poverty turned women and children to beggars.

Politics is not for decent people in Nigeria, because people go diabolic means to ensure being elected, politicians kill people more than armed robbers and those who dare to sail against the tide are brought down dead! All because they want their own share of the loot, while godfathereism installs their men in power to avoid being probed, the power that probe are gagged, we have lost hope in them all.

The video of happenings in Ekiti state was sent to me, a human right s activist who went there to observe was beaten to stupor while International observers were stupefied to watch men turned animals because of election. Legs were butchered and packed in nylon bags while the president is yet to decide on what to say after 5 days, may be he is watching his words, one cannot say, he might have a specified amount of words he is supposed to utter in a week!

Troops were deployed to the state yesterday to avert further breakdown of the law while the Electoral commission had to relocate to this state from the Federal Capital Territory, all the same there is no positive result to the money wasted instead of its being utilized for the development of my hungry people.

Naked women invoke the ancestral spirit of the black race to fight nominated powers that unleash hunger and terror on women and children; this was publicly displayed to shameless leaders who use hunger as a weapon of silent war against my people.
