MOBILE CAFE FOR RURAL WOMEN (3)

After our last advocacy training on Mobile cafe for rural women on December 19, 2016, we held our end of the year party which was funded by Break forth women Nigeria. The year 2016 isa period in Nigeria when there is economy recession, things and very hard for us, food stuffs as End of the year gifts will go a long way to help the women in rural communities.

We decided to involve all the Mobile cafe for rural women participants.

It was another opportunity to meet all the women that we trained during our Mobile cafe for rural women advocacy programme in Nine communities. The women were very happy to converge at Ibasa riverside community for the programme.

As early as 8am, women began to arrive at the venue of the programme. Break forth women provided more than enough gifts for the women, women from Ogun state sent representatives while other women from the remaining eight communities attended the programme.

It was the first of its kind in Ibasa community because more than fivehundred women and children received various gifts like hundreds bags of Rice, hundred bags of semolina, hundred cartons of noodles, pasta, tomato paste, detergents, bar soap, toothpaste, salt, clothes, lady's bags, beverages etc

Widows who were present were given preferential treatment because they received double portions of the gifts shared.

The women were admonished to use the training they have received and to work harder to become community change agents in their various localities. While speaking at the venue, the Director of Break forth Nigeria promised to work with our organisation till 2020, and they have decided to double the donation in the coming year.

The women also promised to keep in touch with our organisation. In February 2017, we promised to return to all the community once again, this time for a longer period of time and we are starting with Ologbenla, time it is for two weeks.
