Child abuse is becoming too rampant in my country and our government are doing nothing to it, a girl of 8years old doing househelp in one woman's place this woman maltreated this little girl, the last one she did to this little girl expose her wickedness, she beat this girl to the point of death put pepper in her private part press her with hot iron this woman not yet satisfied with what she has done to this little girl go ahead and pierced her head with three long nails, it was this girls cry the people heard that makes them check they were shocked when they got to this woman apartment immediately took the girl to the hospital and reports the woman and her husband to the police station two weeks later this woman and her family were not to be found, people tried all their best to gather money to pay this girl hospital bill now she is at the point of life and death and the victims are no where to be found. Our country needs good leader and the fear of God in order to promote the country and I know that if we can join hands together and pray to God our country will change and abusing of child will stop, we need good citizens that can cooperate together to stop child abuse in our country.

Dear Opeyemi,
What a terrible terrible experience that you recount here. I'm at a loss for words, grief for this poor little dear consumes me. I cannot begin to imagine her pain! But you are right in that protecting children begins with a change of heart, and valuing the vulnerable as having as much dignity and value as everyone else, because the are image-bearers of God.

I pray for her life, her fortitude, and for justice.
There is so much evil in the world, let's continue responding to it with love and and light.

Dear Opeyimi,
I am so glad that you have found World Pulse and congratulations on your first story. When we know what is happening, we know what needs to change. Thank goodness neighbours had the hearts and courage to find out what was happening in time. I hope the little girl is surrounded by loving people only, for the rest of her life. We envision a world in which all of this horrific violence is stopped. This is why we need to stay strong together. I hope you will keep writing. Your voice is strong, documenting what needs to be known.

Hello, Opeyemi,

Welcome to World Pulse! I’m happy that a new voice from Nigeria is rising up!

What a tragic experience that was! First of all, an eight-year-old as a househelp is child labor and a violation of her rights. What did her parents say?

That’s a traumatic experience. How heartbreaking. On the other hand, I commend the neighbors for rescuing her and for helping pay the hospital bill. It goes to show your country has people who are generous and kind-hearted. Thus, your country has hope.

Thank you for raising your voice against child abuse. We stand with you!

Please keep on writing! We love to know you more. Looking forward to reading your next posts.

Welcome again to our growing sisterhood!

Hi Opeyemi,
Congratulations on your first story and welcome to World Pulse! The situation you described is so disheartening. We should do unto others as we want them to do unto us. What a shame!

Nonetheless, glad you're here. Bringing issues such as this to the fore through writing is a great way to begin the work towards solving the problem of all kinds of abuse. Together, we can! We must not keep silent.

Take care, keep writing and stay safe, Sis.:)

Oh my God this is so heartbreaking. Thank you for letting us know. We need a lot to do to keep our children safe. I wish we can end the child labour from our world in this generation and you are right such people must be given hard punishments
