ARCHAIC KNOWLEDGE OF RELIGION IN WEST AFRICA

Religion which on its own is a belief in a spiritual or supernatural existence is lashed by the routines or rites expected of their belief. General knowledge of an average black about religion is of the existence of a supreme being who is capable of doing anything they ask or pray for. Of course, through ages, it has been believed by them to be true.
In the light of that, they have formulated or established various doctrine(s) based on their understanding of what this being expected of them. Everyone, with their different doctrine, even when some believe they worship the same God, the difference(s) in their doctrine which is “supposed” to be to the “same” God is glaring. This in turn leads to unnecessary chaos between them. While some think they have the manual to the perfect mode of dressing (more like a standard uniform) which the supreme being gives validation for, others think otherwise. Of course, instead of the supposed unity that should exist amongst them, they have a dispute.
Their general belief of worshipping a God that can do anything they ask or pray for, makes a large fraction of them neglect the aspect of working. When a person who is sick and supposed to seek the help of a modern health practitioner refuse to do because there is something or procedure the health practitioner asked them to do which is not approved of their supreme being and succumbing to their predicament, forgetting that this being made the modern healthcare knowledge open to the practitioners or some persons who decide to believe that the fact that they have an ailment is because it is what the supreme being wants for them, thereby accepting their fate, even when some religious books promise health.
Some in their bid to modify their doctrine, even forbid the use of technological gadgets because according to them it is what their God hate. Things which he/she hate, this they will not do.
Ever wonder why a purely religious person will rather fight tooth and nail defending his/her doctrine(s) even when it doesn't seem logical than disseminate love amongst their fellow humans? They derive more pleasure in being a religious bigot than to exhume peace.
Religion should be peace loving, irrespective of what our individual views, perspective or doctrine is. The use of modern knowledge should not be scrapped by religious leaders. We as an individual should embrace peace, technological knowledge that has been built for our convenience and perfect well-being.
