Story
When i was first introduced to world pluse by a sister, for days i was filled with regrets on why i didn't know about such a platform lifting women 15 years ago, questions filled my heart ie: were they Really existing?. Each time i close my eyes the vedio of what i would have done better if i or a woman in that community knew all i know today just keeps playing down in my head with clear remembrance of the hard times and painful lack of basic life amenities most families in the community i grew up faced.
To some of us life was unfair but in same community lived people we were several times better than, so picture how bad it was. Opposite ojo Barracks in Lagos Nigeria was a place most people didn't want to be associated with, anyone or anything from this environment assumed bad as Gang fighting, robbery, teenage pregnancy, prostitution, rape, extreme poverty etc... was a part of the life.
One common thing amoung the people here was the fact that women had losts of children resulting from less information on effective family planing, while some couldn't afford it, i am a survivor of five children among the 10 children my mother had (story for another day).
My father did all he could to make us different and the only way he knew was education that came with so much discipline that i sometimes i heated him so much, thank God it paid off. I was the only privileged child to get a secondary education in a private school of which he paid from his nose and left the home penniless at all time.
On econimic develpment i am not an expect but i strongly believe in the love we shear here, based on this i will say World plus sisters has the power to change the status of women which will in return impact largely into the world economy because if you empower a woman you empower a generation.
How do we that:
its just by sending out our garbage/unused stuffs in our garages, stores and back yards, to women who truly need it to feel wealthy, with video from us telling them together we can change the world expressing how passionate we are and how we made the most of our situations, with this i believe they will be motivated with the mind set that a sister somewhere cares enough to shear her not use and experience which will automatically turn treasures and wealth to them.
Truth be told women in rural communities can only afford after much struggle to buy used cloths, shoes, kitchen materials, chairs, frig, educational materials, Toys even underwears etc... Which by right shouldn't be sold as they were donated materials with visible tags but problem is that it has passed true the wrong chanel's towards those who need it.
If you have not used it for 6 mouths give out to those who will use it daily and treasure it or make a video to show you care about women.
In 2015 i started giving out all my used items while spending Christmas with people in very Rural communities, the joy on their faces and how quickly they changed into custums, shoes, cloths,head scarf's in all excitement while eating drinking and dancing to music will amaze and bring you tears.
My dream is to structure and have a monthly travel with my team (giving Mums) to bless people living under hard conditions associated with lack. Dearest Sisters lets together use our waste and stories to put smiles on the faces of women and children who will be forever grateful and treasure that which we no longer use.
I remember how Women scavenge for earrings, chains and possible plastic slippers at the Maracans refuse dump site at Ojo back then, i remember how poverty and lack of information made women use foam as sanitary towels.
Today only about 10 out of 40 women i could remember are still alive, poverty brings pains and woman like you and i reading this can help turn our waste to wealth for others.
