He didn’t have to go, he didnt have to go NO he didnt have to go.............

My sister’s baby was born after a difficult labour that ended in a caesarean operation. Her waters burst and for over 48 hours nothing happened and the nurses where just waiting for normal labour. I feel they could have done more considering she had been hospitalized for high blood pressure days before. Eventually they told her she had to go to a hospital where she was only operated after half a day. The baby was born weighing a healthy 3.9 kg. On Saturday he needed an injection that was not available at the hospital and it eventually was sourced and taken to the hospital. He had also developed yellow (jaundice). Then on Tuesday evening he stopped suckling and was taken to the UV light and put on oxygen. Later that night he passed away. What is hurting me the most s that the baby had survived for six days and mother and son had grown attached? Moreover my sister was already facing the joys of motherhood only for that to be taken away cruelly before his time. He didn’t deserve to die but this is the case with most infant mortality stories. By the time he was born he was tired from the long labour. He was a high demand baby but there was some relaxation on his condition. This was an avoidable death if someone had taken more care, took more notice and paid close attention. My tears are wet the family has lost a special boy. Who knows what he could have survived to become. A great banker, an economist, a doctor or the president but all that was denied him because of poor health care. Someone should be answerable but no, no one is. As I say rest in peace my son sadly taken away before your time I pray for a better accountable people centred health system. He didn’t have to go, he didn’t have to go, he didn’t have to go, he didn’t have to go, he deserved to live, a chance to grow, no he didn’t have to go, he didn’t have to go.
