Yes I am me!

Posted October 1, 2019 from Nigeria

I am that girl

Not pretty enough. Not strong enough. Not funny enough. Not nice enough. Not fat enough. Not slim enough. Not intelligent enough.

Every girl should appreciate how they are and who they are. Value yourself and love yourself enough because it's only then people get to love u too....

Hello, PIMKIE,

Welcome to World Pulse! It's a joy to know a new voice from Nigeria is rising up and is joining our growing sisterhood.

I would like to tell you that YOU ARE ENOUGH. Maybe in the fake standards of beauty this society placed on girls make us feel we don't measure up, but who are they to define what's pretty, strong, funny, nice, fat, slim or intelligent? No, they cannot define you.

So let me say this with so much love for you. Yes, YOU ARE PRETTY ENOUGH, dear.
And yes, dear, saying these truths about yourself doesn't make you fake. This is your truth. This is who you are. :)

I want to share what I wrote long ago, hoping to inspire you:

"Our beauty lies in our ability to give life—biologically, or through our artwork, our careers, our ministries, or our advocacies. Our beauty lies in our talents, whether we are able-bodied or differently abled. Our beauty lies in our skin, whether it is brown or black or yellow or red.

The world would be dull if there were no diversity in humanity, or if the colors in a rainbow were only green and violet.

Let us embrace our uniqueness and beauty, and let us stop apologizing for our skin color, our height, our weight, our civil status, our menstrual cycles, our moods, or our birth stories—or our lack of a birth story.

We are flowers that bloom in the plains, up in the mountains, along the rivers, within the rainforests, in the deserts, and under the vast ocean. We complement the roses in a garden of flowers.

Let us stop measuring ourselves from the scales of mass media and societal expectations. The world might only exalt the roses. But let us bloom as daisies, chrysanthemums, tulips, petunias, irises, lavender, lilac, sunflowers, orchids, lilies, dandelions, poppies, sampaguitas, edelweiss, marigolds…

Let us celebrate our differences; let us celebrate and bloom together."

Hugs, dear. Welcome home. :) Looking forward to reading more of your stories. :)

Hello my dear Pimke,

Thank you so much for sharing your inner feelings. Wow, i like the way you said you are not a FAKE. and no one can deny that if you are true/real (not take) mind it always that nothing is better than truth. Nothing is beautiful than truth, nothing is stronger than truth, nothing is real than truth. Nothing can beat the truth. So keep being true and real my sister. You are already so valuable and strong as you said already that you are not Fake.
keep writing and keep shining my sister.
love and regards,

Hello Dear Pimkie,

How are you? Oh, dear:-( I'm glad that Karen has already addressed and wrote what I'm thinking. You are enough already, dear, just because you exist and you are perfect just the way you are. It's wonderful that you're "real," too. Authenticity is so important.

I'm looking forward to seeing more posts from you, and to see what you're passionate about and what your dreams and mission are.

Hope you're doing well, and having a great week!

Hi Pimkie,
You said that every girl should appreciate how they are and who they are, and I agree with this. If you need someone to talk with you can send me a message and let's chat and talk about things. Have a great day. Always remember you are beautiful because you are wonderfully made.
