Traditional Marriage in Bali : Unequal marriage caused by Kasta

Marriage as a sacred moment in everybody's life maybe seems like a terrible moment in Bali. Kasta as the cultural heritage divided traditional society to be four category :Brahmana, Ksatria, Waisya, and Sudra transformed into awful.

History cited that Kasta used to divides the people based on their job. Brahmana as priest, Ksatria as warrior, Waisya as farmer and sudra as labor. But nowadays, the situation changed. The people who labeled as brahmana or the others could freely work wherever they want to.

Tragic today, when those all people used Kasta as their reason or consideration to choose their life-partner! believe it or not, in Bali before you decided to get married (especially for woman) kasta was the primary question asking by your partner's family. If you're not in their same kasta especially Brahmana as triwangsa kasta ( three top point kasta) you can't married anyone from that kasta. If you force to marry that means you finally out from your family tree (For woman), because in Bali, the woman should follow her husband then entered into her new family - her husband's family.

Love is no more the alibi to build your own happy family. Women no more has their rights to choose their partner based on kasta- for triwangsa kasta. Occasionally, matchmaking arise. I dont even know when it will end.

Sometimes i saw my own culture was nonsense. They build something in one side but the other side it crush also. Movement for this right abuse nothing. How could i fix it?
