Where I get my hope

I lost my father when I was 6 years old and I've been raised by a single mother for ten years. My fathers family was not helping us in any way and we faced fincial problems at home. I felt like there's no point of living anymore . I was hopeless and filled with tears at all times. Life became very difficult because the glue holding the family together had disappeared.

I was drowning in fears. I didn't know if I'll be able to attend secondary school. But with God, everything is possible. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. I was able to find a sponsor to pay my school fees.

Something that I always remind myself is to look back to where you're coming from. And no matter how bad your background might be, the future remains flawless.

I have written 104 poems and I hope that I'll inspire people with them. When I pray to God, I am always hopeful. I know that He cannot send me here on earth without a purpose.

I listen to music when I'm really down. I write poems and read inspirational speeches and poems. My biggest inspiration is Maya Angelou. Her poems are what drives in my life.

Life is a journey and we can only reach our destination if we are brave. Just because you failed once does not make you a failure. Always stand tall and never quit until your last breath and last but.

I am hopeful that one day I'll be able to attend university. Maybe not now but later but I'll not quit. I'll always stand tall and I'll continue working hard. There's a hope that is waiting for everyone in the dark.

Hi Promise,

Thanks for sharing your positive, and inspiring post. I'm sorry that you've had so much grief already in your young life and that you have undoubtedly had to be very strong to go through it all, too. I'm very inspired that you are so grounded, confident, positive and inspired. I'm hopeful that you will attend university so you can realize your purpose and dreams. Perhaps you could apply for some scholarships, when you are ready. I hope you share some of your poetry with us, or let us know where we can find them.

Please be sure to submit your story for the "What Gives You Hope?" story award under this link to be considered for the award: https://www.worldpulse.com/en/voices-rising/story-awards/89062

Hope you have a great day!

Hey promise
Life is not am easy one ,it comes with a lot of challenges and difficulties but God is there to see us through I say this because of my past and challenges life gave to me. I thought I was all alone and I gave up already but God showed me that I was not worthless like I thought I was. I want to encourage you to have faith in God and believe in your capabilities. I didn't know I will attend university but now I am there because I believed.

Hi Promise,
You surely have a lovely name that speaks volume even before you speak. I am sure that you will attend University one day and live your dreams. It all starts with a dream and then the rest is history. You are such an inspiration to many writers out there because at your age you have written 104 poems. Always remember to dream big and never let go of your dreams.

Thank you for sharing once again and I am looking forward to hearing more and more of your stories.

Promise, your writing is so inspiring! You write with such confidence in your God, your faith is strong. Thank you for sharing your story and also what encourages you. You sound just like your menor; "Stand up straight and realize who you are. That you tower over your circumstances. You are a child of God. Stand up straight.” Maya Angelou
