The Dalit(lower cast) community constitutes 20 percent of the total population of Dasharathchanda Municipality, Baitadi. Although the Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS and the laws issued by the government mention positive discrimination for the Dalit(lower cast) and Haliya (labor), and poor communities, the socio-economic condition of the people is not improving as expected. Although the Nepali government has adopted a policy of giving priority to the Dalit and backward class communities in various programs, a small number of people from the Dalit community have not been able to take advantage of it. Due to illiteracy, ignorance, low income and high unemployment rate in this community, the people of the Dalit(lower cast) community have no source of income. The people of the community have to live a very difficult life to support their families by earning daily wages. Considering this condition of the community, the training program for livelihood, goat rearing, poultry rearing, beekeeping, and running a business run by Dalit Enterprise Development Society Baitadi has improved the community.

Economics Status:

People of Dasharathchanda municipality Dalit community are involved in agriculture and agriculture. Due to the inability to get adequate employment opportunities and opportunities, the people of the community are having difficulty in their daily life. Most of the unemployed youth from the Dalit community have a job zone in India. Due to the difficulties in employment and daily living in the community, there is a tendency for Dalit children to drop out of school without passing secondary education. Due to the poor nutritional status of the people in the community, the children are becoming malnourished and dumb. The maternal mortality rate is increasing due to a lack of improvement in the eating habits of women in the Dalit community. The per capita income has been very low. For livelihood, they have become self-reliant through training programs for running goat rearing, poultry rearing, beekeeping, and running a business.

Social status:

Within this Dasharathchanda municipality, there is still social discrimination against the people of the Dalit community Although the Government of Nepal has formulated various policy programs on behalf of the Dalit community, it has not been implemented in practice. Women of the Dalit community are still in a very dilapidated condition due to caste un touch ability and unequal treatment of women. Even if large and small castes live in the same place, for example, the food streams are different according to the caste, When a woman is menstruating and giving birth, she has to live far away from home, such as in a cowshed or on a hill, etc. Self-reliant through livelihood training, goat rearing, poultry rearing, beekeeping, and running a business.

Strategy:

A. To review the progress of the targeted households of the Dalit community by regularly monitoring the extension work of improved breeds of goats, chickens, bees, and other breeds.

B. To conduct a business improvement plan after conducting programs to improve the overall condition of Dalits (lower cast) and deprived households through animal husbandry and agriculture business and to guide them to increase their income.

C. To facilitate continuous entrepreneurship with the help of sewing machines for the promotion of the traditional profession of the Dalit (lower cast) community
