The Dalit(lower cast) community constitutes 20 percent of the total population of Dasharathchanda Municipality, Baitadi. Although the Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS and the laws issued by the government mention positive discrimination for the Dalit(lower cast) and Haliya (labor), and poor communities, the socio-economic condition of the people is not improving as expected. Due to illiteracy, ignorance, low income and high unemployment rate in this community, the people of the Dalit(lower cast) community have no source of income. The people of the community have to live a very difficult life to support their families by earning daily wages. Considering this condition of the community, the training program for livelihood, goat rearing, poultry rearing, beekeeping, and running a business run by Dalit Enterprise Development Society Baitadi has improved the community.
