Birth Control and Self Help Abortions

Within the USA birth control methods are widely available, though not always accessible. Prescribing contraceptives to girls and women was a specialty of mine while practicing as a Nurse Practitioner/midwife. educating,  counseling and providing abortions was another.

While living in a community full of environmental activists there were young women 16-19 years old attempting self help herbal abortions. I came to find that they did not know fertility awareness, so they had no idea how far along they were. Thus began my journey of providing abortions, medical and surgical.

Fortunately, we do have access to safe abortions in clinics, but not all of society accepts a woman's choice, and rural women have to travel to a large city, or even across state lines.

I used to provide workshops on \"Fertility Awareness, herbal birth control, herbal abortions, gentle waterbirths\" covered the range of pregnancy.

Now that there is a huge push by republicans to make abortion illegal, there has been a large on line presence of abortion information and products for self help abortions. Women around the globe can access abortion means. It is imperative they know how to use safely. An ectopic pregnancy needs surgery. Too far along after conception can lead to heavy bleeding.
