What is love?

What do you think of love?

I paused a little before I could say my stand on it. Yes, love exists, and I believe in love. If we look at it in such a way that love is just not one person, but every being and everything around us, one can feel a connection with, it wouldn't be wrong.

Like I feel deep connections with trees, nature, the sky, oceans, and music. Not sure of what I meant, he asked and how about relationship sort of love ? Yes, that exists too, and with utmost beauty, this form of love is most cherished.

I think it isn't exceptionally great because it makes you fall harder, he uttered.

Sometimes, I am just in a mood of deep talks like the one which was happening tonight, and in a full spirit of surrendering to the moment,  I replied, well, unless you don't fall how would you know what it means to rise.

Not happening to believe my words, he kept asking and how about if you keep falling again and again and again, Well, then maybe fall until you finally learn to rise above the concept of falling. He grinned.

Some nights frequently get divine with deeps talks to self and sometimes deep thoughts, but tonight was different as we were speaking of love, an ordinary thing which does wonders.

I said love is when two freedoms meet. How is that possible, wondered him. I may be wrong, but I believe love is when you don't commit. There is a difference between love and commitment. Commitment is what keeps you bound to, and love is a will, it is free. 

In commitment you are bound to listen, to behave accordingly to each others demand, tell them to change for you and vise versa but love is not give and take; it is pouring oneself until emptying. It does not bound; it does not force; it just comes making you surrender to life without any pause, without any doubt.

And what is surrender? Surrender is when you accept, when you observe, when you sit and stare, just despite all the odds and evens, keep starting at life as if the only thing on earth that matters. Sometimes love is just love; it can't even be defined but only felt. Also sometimes love is just a moment which leaves you longing for it in its purest form forever.

See!! when you surrender to life and love, you happen to witness feelings that are unknown to people who are in a rush, who are in a hurry and who do not pay attention to little things in life. What happens when we pay attention? We are indeed present in that moment; we become aware of what is happening around, we are fully aware of our emotions, what controls them and what causes them.

Love is an ordinary sweet thing which only if you pay attention to and become aware of  becomes extraordinary! But remember, love is not just one person you marry, it is everything and every being around you that you come in connection with.

Listening to all what I had to say the poet in him asked and what do I call you, I said, " Healer"  :) and he found a friend in me who sound to be restless with the approaches of the mundane world, and we fared each other well.
