I am first and foremost a story teller. Whether as a Freelance Journalist or Writer, or in my role as a strategic communications, outreach and marketing specialist.
I have lived in a five different countries and travelled in over 30. I love connecting with people from various cultures, communities and listening to their voices. For over a decade, I have worked in the realm of outreach, marketing and communications with various organizations including the End Human Trafficking Now! campaign and the United Nations Office for Project Services, UN Women and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I have been involved with the US Fund for UNICEF, with the New York Asian Women's Center, civil society conferences at the UN and served on the board of the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace.
As a freelance journalist, I have had the opportunity to meet and interview various women leaders around the world including the US Ambassaor for Global Women's Issues, Marianne Pearl, Fatima Bhutto, Mukhtar Mai, Loung Ung, Shirin Ebadi, the 13 indigenous grandmothers and various others.
Above all, I am a believer in all of us in the world needing to have a voice -- and the importance of harnessing the power of media, technology and communications to provide that platform to make connections.
