Introducing myself and my journal: Women and children

About Me:
I am a HIV positive lady,35 years old, a widow of triplets aged 7 years old. I have been working for Women fighting Aids in kenya (WOFAK) in the years 2003-Sept 2011. During this years l was involved in care, support and advocacy for women and children infected and affected by HIV.
My birth to quardriplets in 2005 through successful Prevention of Mother to child transmission of HIV and hence all the four being PCR HIV negative (one passed away at one and a half weeks of age), the stigma l faced owing to the multiple delivery and the burden of taking care of the family alone with minimal income after to my husband's death in 2007,brought a new dimension in my life experiences.
The stories l have listen to from mothers of multiple births as results of traditional practices and cultural beliefs including inability to access necessary services ( medical, social, financial e.t.c)is quite devastating and this sent me to start a support group that can create a forum for this women and their children to access necessary support. More information about the organization can be accessed on www.mochiwela.blogspot.com.
