Happy women's day

Growing up as a little girl we were made to understand that the place of a woman was in the kitchen. She would spend all her days doing house chores and then in and out of the kitchen preparing meals. We loved spending time with them in the kitchen as we were sure of good food. We would sit by the fireplace and listen to African tales and ridles.. Sometimes we would love to spend the night on the bamboo beds in the kitchen were it was always warm. The word empowerment was a taboo as according to men it meant competition with them as the head of the family. They hated the 8th of March as they they dreamt and prayed that women should always be relegated to the background.

Today the trend has changed. Women are being encouraged to cease all opportunities to empower themselves.

Happy Women day to all my World Pulse sisters. This is truly where I belong. Today I celebrate this network of women who are so so committed, devoted and always ready to encourage each other.

Women with plenty of knowledge from whom I learn everyday from the experiences.

Today I celebrate our first step from staying in the fireplace all day to the journey and hope of empowering ourselves with digital skills that would transform our lives.

It is a must do, it is a good choice and we must involve our children especially the girl child as the journey to a better future for them is now. I am committed to join the campaign of #SheTransformstech
