April Encourager’s Party (how encouragement on World Pulse has impacted me)

Every last Friday of the month World Pulse organizes an encourager party at 2PM GMT. World Pulse sisters always look forward to this moment where we welcome new encouragers, appreciate active encouragers for the previous month (featured encourager) and share tips related to encouragement. It always lasts an hour but I bet its always our wish it last more than an hour.

The April encouragers party was on the 30th. Dawn and Manasa were there with their ever-ready smiles to welcome us as we signed in and then the microphone was passed on to Sabina as the sister of ceremony who encouraged everyone to introduce themselves on the chats, stating their name and where they come from and to also participate in the polls. Sabina went on to explain that an encourager badge can be earned on world Pulse by reading and commenting on ten stories a month and that those with encouragers badge could also apply to become World Pulse community mentors. Our sister “Keturah Shammah’s” lovely quote on mentorship was read as follows “My mentor is the best ever gift to my life”

Tips for encouragement were shared by our sister JoMatrie:

-Take care of you:

-You can't comment on everything, so don't:

-Don't get overwhelmed:

-Make the storytellers feel heard:

Tips for Breakout rooms: JoMarie

-Speak up. Time is limited.

-Come with a story to talk about.

. -Be present, be considerate.

Being the story teller for the day I was asked to share and tell a story how World Pulse Encouragement had impacted me.

-Encouragement has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem.

-Encouragement has totally transformed my situation that seemed hopeless, uplifted, inspired, motivated and given me the strength to look forward, while staying focus on attaining my goals.

Details on all the tips on encouragement for the day can be found on the recordings for those who registered and could not attend the party.

I recounted my story of the challenges I have been going through the last nine months. My husband locked up in jail and he is still there, my son Gareth very sick and depressed for weeks with me spending sleepless nights watching him suffer with so much pain while weeping nonstop all night, my mother in-law mentally ill and totally abandoned to me for care, my first son living with a disability, having a large household to cater for all alone, playing the role of both parents, being CEO/Founder of an organization for the deaf and vulnerable persons which I have to run on a daily base, and how I almost gave up when I became ill due to hard work. Thanks to my World pulse sisters who were always there encouraging and uplifting me through their comments on the stories I constantly posted, and by reaching out to me out of the platform.  Through constantly reading and commenting on posts and also reading comments written by other sisters I discovered that there were many women out there with similar situations and even worse than mine and I learnt from their coping strategies. I always look forward to encourager Parties where I have the opportunity to talk to World Pulse sisters especially in break out rooms, it always gives me the opportunity to let out some of the emotions I have been suppressing all month without feeling ashamed and that has been a great healing process for me. Thanks to your continuous love and support I have become a stronger Regina today and can tell my story with a broad smile on my face and no tears running down my face as was the case a few months back. You have all given me the strength and courage to stay focused on my goals. Thanks to you all my adorable and amazing sisters it’s been a life of celebration as Spirit awardee, being featured amongst the top 7 featured change makers and being amongst the 21 women to watch out for in 2021 all being the fruits of encouragement on world Pulse.  I come from a family of amazing 7 girls who love and support each other but the love and encouragement on World pulse is different. It’s so special to me because these are amazing women most of whom I have never meet personally yet it feels like we are sitting in the in the same room, holding hands, hugging each other with so much joy, sharing our happy and challenging moments and giving each other so much hope.

A shout out to Mama Tam for being the first to ever encourage me on World Pulse.  In her comment I picked out the words compassion and determination which has guided me all through my work. Special thanks to All world Pulse Encouragers and Ambassadors for your constant love and support. To my ever lovely and Patient Dawn and Manasa and World Pulse team, I say a special thank you for encouraging, supporting and considering me especially when I could not meet up with datelines on a task due to challenges.

Special shout out to lovely and adorable Jill for being such a dear heart. She has never stopped supporting and encouraging me and making sure I have the positive energy to carry on my work. Her visualization Therapy has been magical. To most lovely and visionary Jensine Larsen thank you so much because there would be no encouragers or encouragement without your vision.

I ended up with this song in appreciation for the impact encouragement has had on me on World Pulse.

Once I thought my world had crumbled.

Once I thought it was the end, and I want to thank you my World Pulse sisters.

Once I was discouraged, but now I'm ENCOURAGED.

Party time lasted for 15mins after which we moved into our breakout rooms. What an exciting moment it was for me being in the same room with Jill as facilitator, Adriana, Loreta and JoMarie. We all shared storied we had read and how they resonated for us.

When we returned from the breakout Mama Tam sang this beautiful song that's been sang by women for many years, accompanied by dancing steps and spiced up with a bit of sign language.

We are a river of birds in migration, a nation of women with wings.

Okay, so we are a river of birds in migration.

A nation of women with wings.

That's us.

The party ended with Sabina thanking everyone for coming and sending lots of love and light to our sisters in India who are going through a difficult moment due to covid19.

What a beautiful one hour spent by women who love, inspire, motive, and encourage each other on this safe space for women!!!!
