Educate the girl child early

As a teacher in Nigeria,in Taraba State and Mutum biyu to be precise,I have seen lots of challenges with the girl child education: father's do not believe in educating their girls and send them into early marriage, those that do send them to schools send them a little too late as a result there are many girls in the community and schools struggling to catch up with school,a lot do not know how to read and write and are either in their late teens or early twenties. A twenty year can be seen in primary and not even doing well. And since parents who send them to school pay for them, they later get tired and give up on them and give them up into marriage, the girls themselves also get discouraged when they see themselves among a few younger ones doing well and feel they can't cope and ask to be married themselves. Women have taken this challenge to working very hard to send their girls to school early but it means they are working twice as hard to achieve this. Therefore, awareness on the importance of educating the girl child early as well as assistance and empowerment of these women who struggle to send their girls to school early is Paramount. I have on my own part set up an extra class outside school to help these girls who are struggling to catch up in school because they were sent a little too late.
