Why I am on a mission to create a space for mums

It is eight months since I began a platform that got initiated on facebook. Today it is live as its own website as www.mumsandstories.com and is suitably supported by facebook to reach mums(facebook.com/mumsandstories)

I am a mum and had felt lost in my identity as an individual. Mums and stories features real stories on mums. It is also the space where individuals can share their personal journey in life and speak about positive influences including their mum.

Over 95 stories across the country including some hard hitting ones like a transgender talking about her mum acid attack fighters talking about motherhood, mums with children who have special needs or mums who themselves have faced trauma, fun stories and more have been featured.

This will eventually become a community and an organization where I hope mums across the world can share insights that will connect, inspire and engage mums.

It is not only mums from India that I get to interact but mums from across the world are sharing stories. A few examples like a mum who is fighting against FGM in Australia, a mum who has a blind son in United states, a travel obsessed mum from London and so many diverse stories are coming out.

The journey has surely given me a strong identity if creating an amazing platform. I do hope more people will be inspired by reading these stories.

I have been in various fields like being a PR practitioner, a radio jockey, blogger, writer but being a mum and connecting with other mums is making me feel top of the world.
