Create jobs for talented women in Gaza

This is Riham, young enterpronour from Gaza - Palestine, I had a dream that is supporting my community and empower the refugee women in Gaza, I did that through Yadaiha project.  Yadaiha’s inspiration comes from Abeer, a refugee from Gaza, and a woman with a dream unmet. Abeer suffered from a severe neurological disease that hindered her ability to control her limbs. The current Yadaiha team, who were only volunteers at the time, was very invested in Abeer’s case. Abeer had a magnificent talent in handicraft work, specifically embroidery. From this struggle and this talent, Yadaiha was born as a project to help Abeer cover the costs of her treatment. Abeer was with us when we initiated our project, but no longer is. She passed away, and her ideas and passion were passed on to us. They were the beginning of a project and a movement for empowerment.

From there, the Yadaiha team, who we are two engineers women from Gaza-Palestine; I am one of them, decided to direct its efforts in the search for women in need, to create opportunities for them. The team hoped that these opportunities would help women realize their hidden dreams.

After six months, we faced a problem that there is no local market for the handmade embroidery products, the people in Gaza can't afford to pay due to the financial situation, it was a big challenge, stopping creating income for the women is our big fear. We started thinking of looking for a global market where people can pay for unique products, because of that I decided to move to the USA to start looking for a market for these handmade products, and another partner who is the designer stayed in Gaza to manage everything from there.

We succeed, it likes a new life for Yadaiha, it is registered as a profit company in the USA from 9 months ago, now creates jobs, empowers and financially supports the refugee women of Gaza by granting them a space to deliver their talents through producing unique and modern Handmade Palestinian embroideries scarves, bags and jewelry in Gaza and ship it to the USA for selling then the money goes back to the women.

Now 40 refugee women are working for Yadaiha, that is not enough, we need more and more, our women are the only income sources for their families, each woman carries stories, dreams, and hope.  Our challenge is looking for our opportunities, we still need help in increasing our sales to let the women produce more, we need to find the opportunities to increase the revenue and our market.

Yadaiha does not only focus on supporting gifted refugees, but also on creating an environment that enhances their talent in handicrafts, and that aids them with working on contemporary designs and marketing them to the global market.

Yadaiha team and women are working together to stay alive and provide more opportunities for more women and families. We can't keep moving in our dreams without Your Support.

Our great progress and new steps need support from you, so we launched our new Crowdfund Campaign.

In these days, we need your generous support by share our campaign link and website with your network, friends, and family. Or you can buy our new products. Also, you can directly support to give us more strength and passion for more steps toward our goals. By donating and buying their products, you will give women in Gaza the opportunity to impact both their families and entire generations, you support the story of courage and art made into wearable pieces.

Yadaiha team and I really appreciate all the efforts you give, your thoughts and your support.

Or, the government grant search: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html

Okay, I will sign up for the newsletter. Thanks for that!

This is fantastic! Congratulations! I just contributed and can't wait to hear how your campaign goes. I am curious how you have found the process of getting registered in the US and setting up your campaign - are you partnering with another organization to do this? What are the ways that the World Pulse community can support you -- besides contributing financially of course? Wishing you the best success on this amazing and very noble project.

Hi Down
I was so happy when I saw your name in the donor's list, really big thanks for you from my deep heart.
In the beginning, it was not easy to understand the system here in the USA in registration the company, but we got a probono service from law firm to register the company and that was very helpful, then I started learning the tax system to understand everything and to deal with the financial issue rightly, and I am good now in this.

Now we are not partnering with any an organization, we are two teams, one in Gaza is responsible on the production, operating, and shipping to the US, the second team in the USA is responsible on the selling, marketing and building the network.
Thanks a lot for asking about what World Pulse can help us besides contributing financially, we are looking for selling as wholesale, to sell to some shops and stores, I mean it will be great if anyone knows some stores and shops could be interested in buying embroidered handmade products.
