My Journey

I always knew I would speak on behalf of others, I wasn't sure in what capacity . I am Nigerian from one of the \"minority\" tribes (Ngas). My parents taught us early that we mattered and were raised with equal rights, privileges and chores. I have one brother and being an only boy did not gain him preferential treatment.

Most of my life has been in the middle belt and northern Nigeria the prevalent challenge women face is marginalization which opens the door to early child marriage, no education among other discriminatory practices.

Since I was a teen, I craved mentorship, I was always my most excited when I was gaining new knowledge so as early as 1999 (just 2 years out of secondary school) I developed a faith-based mentorship programme for the teen girls in my local church, it was called the discipleship class. I am a committed mentor and contributor to Girls voices where we teach the girls how to make their voice count. As the news editor in my organization, I always prioritize women and girls issues. To further empower girls to share in a safe space, I desire to be trained on women/girls and gender development.
