Domestic Violence Testimony

I wanted to share a YouTube video with you of a friend of mine here in the Bronx New York who shared her story of surviving domestic violence.

Yesterday for my 2013 VOF Week 3 article, I choose to include a perspective of abuse and neglect as factors that stand in the way of young girls and women becoming educated. Please if you know anyone that is effected by domestic violence or have been yourself look over this video. Hopefully, it will inspire you to remain motivated to become educated about stopping the cycle of violence.

No one deserves to be hit or battered. Regardless of one being a legal spouse, father of children, or live-in boyfriend. Many times it is fear that keeps a woman in domestic violence. She must realize she is more than her fears, she is worth more than pain, and deserves a vibrant life. Nothing less then being treated with love and respect. Sometimes listening to other people's stories give us a perspective necessary to break that fear inside.
