Story
To both prevent and address the adverse effects of Early Child Forced Marriages (ECFM) requires equal effort by men who are key decision makers in society. Men can rule out issues of child marriages. I believe men can help women make a positive change in the lives of their children especially girls to help them take up future leadership roles in society
My experience working with the rural community has proven that men mostly make decisions on Early Forced Marriages of their children. When children are married off they miss out on the acquisition of rights to education and other basic rights. The root causes of this issue are complex and multifaceted, including things such as rigid norms that constrain girls and women's roles, value, and choices, and maintain unequal gender relations in the family and in society. It is critical to target Peaceful Positive Social Change (PPSC) in behavior and attitudes as well as to advocate for more protective policy implementation.
