Child Labour is defined in ILO Conventions, it is work that children should not be doing because they are too young to work - Because it is dangerous of other wise unsuitable for them. Not all work done by children should be classified as Child Labour that is to be targeted for Elimination.



Hundred of millions of Girls and Boys through out the World are engaged in Work that deprives them of adequate Education, Health, Leisure and Basic Freedom. M ore than half are exposed to the worst forms of Child Labour such work in hazardous environment. Slavery or other forms of forced Labour, illicit activities such as Drugs Trafficking and Prostitution as well as involved in armed conflict.



However across the World, Million of Children do extremely hazardous work in harmful condition putting their Health, Education, Personal and Social Development and even their lives at risk. These are some of the circumstance they face.



Full time work at very early age
Dangerous Workplace
Excessive Working hours subjection to Psychological, Verbal, Physical and Sexual Abuse
Obliged to work by circumstance or individuals
Limited or no pay



What Children Want - Child Domestic Workers Speak Out



To provide opportunities for Education and training which will allow them to move on from Domestic Work
To assist them in seeking redress form Abusive or Exploitative Employers
Not to alienate Employers, but to make them part of the the solution to their problem.
To develop more service which cater specially to the needs of Child Domestic Workers.
To develop long term interventions
To develop interventions which take into consideration some of the issues which most affect Child Domestic Worker
