Wooooooi, wooooooi you are kiliing me uuuuuuwi somebody help me I heard a cry from my sister's house when I reached there I saw a girl on the floor still shouting and crying. I asked what was going on but all of them kept quiet then my sister suggest that I go out with her. She was looking afraid and came near my ear and started whispering told me that the mother of the crying girl is a heartless woman she took her daughter to the old lady for the FGM they did it two days ago  but now things are worst they brought her in my house because the girl is still bleeding and swollen so we were trying to pour hot water and some medicine for first aid this is very painful and that's why she was shouting and crying out loud for help. I was shocked and without hesitating I called the police and the ambulance and within few minutes the ambulance arrived but the mother refused us to take the girl to hospital and while we were still arguing the police arrived and force them to enter the ambulance and take the girl to the hospital. When we were entering the doctor's room the mother remain behind and disappeared but the girl was admitted and got good care and medication and discharged from the hospital after five days.

Y FGM? Must we do it? No! No! Let's lobby our community to stop this dangerous and harmful traditional believe and practices.

Hello, Rosylyne,

Kudos to you for your quick solution! I hope that little girl is not traumatized by what happened with her.
I think FGM should be stopped. I could not imagine what would happen to that girl if you were not there to help.

Thank you fo sharing!

Dear Rosylyne,
Thank you for standing up for her. From what you did, other women will not indulge into this wicked act. FGM is actually outrageous and no girl deserves this wickedness!
You know, today I was talking with some staff who work in the same facility as myself about the right of a woman to have pleasurable sex and some of them looked at me strangely. It is high to speak up and condemn this violation of human right.

Dear Rosylyne,
It is this work, standing firm in the belief that no girl should ever have to endure FGM and being able to take bold action - this is the work of a true change maker. You have saved this girl's life and the women surrounding her have seen the critical importance of action. By writing about it you give us all the news that we can take forward that World Pulse sisters are intervening and saying loud and clear that we are here to stop every harmful, painful practise against any woman or girl.
In sisterhood,
Tam

Hear, hear! Lifethreatening, and for what? to cut away the female organ of pleasure. All to enforce the sexual double standard on women.

Rosy dear,
Thank God for your timely intervention, she would bled to death. Some others may not be this lucky. What do we need to do? I believe education of the religious leaders, community chiefs and leaders, teachers, men and boys, girls and women will go a long way in putting this 1st century barbaric act behind us.

Thanks Rosy. Keep up the good work!
