Hello, Assalaam Alaikum. peace and blessings everyone!

My name is Sabeena.

I'm a fairtrade campaigner, educator and social entrepreneur.

Here is my #HerStoryMakesHistory message for World Pulse on International Women's Day 2021!

I support fairtrade because I believe in the the 10 Principles of Fair Trade.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the fairtrade women powerhouses of the world who have supported my work over the past 12 years.

Thank you for supporting me in 2008 when I first wrote to you about starting a Fair Trade movement in the UAE. #MonaElSayed @fairtradeegypt

Thank you Roopa Mehta (Apa) @sasha_fairtrade and President of the World Fair Trade Organization for visiting me in Dxb and telling me to keep my head down and work hard!

Thank you Gulshan Bibi, social entrepreneur, activist and women's empowerment advocate at Sabah Pakistan for your strength and determination. #SabahPakistan #Sungi

Thank you to the Founder of Selyn Fairtrade, Sri Lanka Mrs Sandra Wanduragala @selynfairtrade for your passion for organic cotton and education.

Thank you Wafa and the ladies from the #NajmaAlSubah Cooperative @FairTradeLeb for your warmth and hospitality during my visit to Lebanon 2016.

Love and respect for the one and only CEO and Founder of Tara Projects Dehli, India.

Ms Moon Sharma (Apa) for your time and kindness. Hope to see you again very soon insha'Allah!

No International Women's Day would be complete without a mention for my late mother and grandmother. My Paradise!

No words to express the endless love and prayers for my beloved mother Mrs Meshar Mumtaz Bano and late grandmother Shamsun Nisa

Miss you both so much!

Love, peace and blessings to all the World Pulse team, World Pulse sisters, fairtrade producers and artisans on International Women's Day 21!

Together We Are Stronger!!!

Hi Sabeena,

It was nice to catch up with you on the Encourager Party call today. I'm sorry to hear that you've suffered so much. I hope that things improve soon for you. Thanks for sharing your gratitude post. Happy IWD to you!

Hi Jill!

Assalaam Alaikum peace and blessings,

Thanks for your message.

I wouldn't call it a catch up, more of a rant. :)
I'm a very private person and have had many challenging times since I was 15.

Please don't worry, I'm not suffering, I truly believe what doesn't kill you makers you a stronger person from within.

My heart is a little shaken but my will is still holding strong.
I have so much to do before I return to the Almighty.

I am still learning and God and life have taught me to grateful for every challenge and difficulty on this journey called life.

I am blessed to be alive and to make everyday special.

Thanks for taking the time to write to me. It is appreciated.
Speak soon

Take care and stay safe!
Love peace and blessings

Hi Sabeena,

You're welcome!

Ha. Well, whatever you call it, I'm glad we were there for you... to support, hold and hear you:-) I hope it helped. I'm glad that you felt safe to open up, too.

I'm glad you're aren't suffering, and that you're grateful.

You, too, dear.

Dear Jill,

Assalaam Alaikum

Thanks for your messages.

As I've mentioned in my previous messages. I'm a very private person. Its not in my nature to open and express my feelings openly.

It was very uncomfortable experience and I would only speak with a trained medical professional in future.

No offense to World Pulse sisters or the World Pulse team.
I honestly believe we all grief in our own unique ways but this not the platform I feel comfortable to talk openly about my experiences.

My writing, blogging and vlogging are my form of therapy.

Many thanks for your concern. It is appreciated. :)

You take care

thank you for bringing attention to Fair Trade. and wow, i was integral in the activism to shut down the World Trade Organization meetings in Seattle, Washington USA 1999. we had 50,000 people on the streets shutting the city down and the meetings in the convention center. and the fight continues against patriarchy and greed.
