For a global One to One Story

Hi

I have been with World Pulse for almost a year. I have poured my heart out through a few stories shared on this wonderful platform.

I have not contributed a lot of stories but whenever something originated and disturbed my peace, I wrote. I received a lot of encouragement from my sisters and I value it and love it.

I have also had the opportunity to read, know and understand the stories from different regions of the world. I learnt a lot in terms of socio-cultural diversity and commonness of women and their status. This has raised my yearning to talk to each one of you on one to one basis and present the socio-cultural contrasts and commonness of women through creative writings or pod casts  on World Pulse. I dont know if what I am saying makes any sense but its what i have been thinking about for quite some time.

I want my sisters to thrash this thought further and suggest the feasibility of this idea. I am personally looking at this exercise of sharing comonalities in the form of Pyramid Making where the voices originate with one to one talks and add up to become One Global Voice: One Fight for All.

waiting to have your ideas

love

mala

Hello Mala,

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that you received a lot of support and encouragement within the community:-) I love your idea. Have you seen Julie Desai's interviews with a lot of World Pulse members. Some of them aren't, but she's done quite a few. Would be in alignment with this, or something else?

These are her posts so you can see what she's been doing, and see if something like this resonates or not:

Looking forward to hearing what you come up with.

Dear Jill,
Thanks for liking the idea of One Voice: One Fight.
Also thanks for sharing Julie Desai's videos. I just listened to a few. They are very good.
What I am conceiving as an Idea is to educate & empower the next generation of girls & boys on issues that they must know if they want to continue their fight against gender inequality. We would have women talk about violence against women in their region/community and what they see as the future solution to at least minimize it if not stop it 100%.
We would create regional podcasts on issues of gender discrimination and bias which will vary from country to country. We would then analyse the observations and create regional commonalities of issues, concerns, challenges and solutions being worked on in particular regions. The conversations will be substantiated with stories, experiences and statistics that they would be covering from their regions.
These regional voices would then assemble into One Voice globally that would be based on ground realities as they exist. We would strengthen this global voice through world pulse and other such platforms.
I would need help from sisters to participate in this project. There is no money that can be in this exercise but what emerges at the end would be invaluable and so rich. It is a very big project which is difficult but not impossible.
This kind of exercise has not been done till date. Since digital technology is the way forward, this can be an appealing way of reaching out to more and more young girls and boys.
please do share your say on it.
love

Hello Again Mala:-)

You're welcome. I'm glad it was helpful to you. Yes, they are good. She did one with me, too:-)

Oh, okay. Yes, baby steps will get you there. It sounds like you have the passion.

You could reach out to Manasa at [email protected] and see what she thinks and if she has some advice for you.

You could try Patreon if you would like to do podcasts. I don't really know that much about them, to be honest. I don't usually listen to them, but I know a lot of people do, and I'm sure that your project would be helpful, and impactful, to many.

Let me know how it goes, and if you need some more input, you can private message me, if it's helpful.

Good luck!
