Engaging Men and Boys to Achieve Gender Equality

On 19th May, Safecity hosted a chat on Engaging Men and Boys to Achieve Gender Equality as part of the Feminist Conference organised by @SheThePeopleTV. Ruben Mascarenhas @rubenmasc and Aditya Paul @adityampaul the Co-founders of Zero Tolerance were guests on the chat.

The chat began by first asking our guests whether the onus of achieving gender equality is also on men and boys and what are the ways in which we can engage men and boys to understand gender equality. We asked them if there are ideological differences in different generations of men and boys regarding gender equality. As the chat went on, our guests shared examples of men and boys who are actively living the principles of gender equality and in some cases, it was the women who are solely driving the movement. Bringing the chat to an end, the participants were asked to share their suggestions on how families can raise feminist men and boys.
