Celebrating International Youth Day 2018 with students at Shades of Happiness

This Youth Day, Safecity organised 2 workshops in collaboration with Shades of Happiness a youth driven NGO which aims at providing basic education and development opportunities to under-privileged children. The workshop was based on the agenda of safe spaces which is the topic of this year’s Youth Day.

Our Youth Outreach Officer in Delhi, Vanshika, created awareness about various topics ranging from Child Sexual Abuse to different kinds of Sexual Harassment. The discussion then moved on to Safe and Unsafe Spaces which encouraged the students to share their stories. The workshop ended with a more engaging discussion on problems of Cyber space and solutions to the same.

16 students from Standard 7 and below participated in the first workshop while we had a great participation of 30 students in the second workshop. This group included students from Standard 8 and above and 10 volunteers from Shades of Happiness as well.
