Achieving Health for All

On 10th May 2019, Michelle Frank @DrMichelleF conducted a Tweetchat on “Achieving Health For All”-

The chat began by asking the audience about their understanding of SDG3 – “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. The audience replied that it essentially means being able to have awareness, availability and access to all kinds of healthcare services and also that resource-allocation and policy decisions should not be gender-specific or age-specific, they should be all-inclusive. The next discussion was about why people, especially in developing nations, are reluctant to attain healthcare services for themselves. The audience pointed out that financial problems, lack of awareness and inadequacy of insurance and government policies to cover everything are the important factors. The chat proceeded to discuss the importance of mental well-being. The audience responded that mental health of a person directly affects their physical health and productivity, hence it is essential to spread awareness and create all-inclusive mental health policies. The discussion ended by asking the audience their suggestions on how the accessibility to healthcare services can be improved and simple ways to create awareness about health conditions among communities.
